Press Release: Social Venture Partners Austin Names Matt Glazer as Executive Director

Seasoned nonprofit and civic leader to guide organization’s next phase of growth and regional impact

AUSTIN, Texas — Social Venture Partners (SVP) Austin announced today the appointment of Matt Glazer as its Executive Director. Glazer will lead SVP Austin’s efforts to deepen impact in central Texas by building a broader community of engaged Partners and strengthening connections with nonprofit organizations.

“Matt has a track record of building organizations, strengthening leadership teams, and helping mission-driven groups scale their impact,” said Tim O’Hara, Board Chair of SVP Austin. “He understands the Central Texas nonprofit ecosystem deeply and brings the strategic leadership necessary for SVP Austin’s next chapter.”

“SVP Austin has built an incredible foundation through the leadership of those who came before me,” said Glazer. “I’m excited to work alongside our partners, members, and community leaders to expand the organization’s reach, strengthen our core programs, and increase our collective impact across Central Texas.”

Glazer brings more than two decades of executive leadership experience spanning nonprofit management, civic engagement, philanthropy, entrepreneurship, higher education, and organizational strategy. Throughout his career, he has led organizations through periods of growth, restructuring, and transition while building strong cross-sector partnerships throughout Texas and nationally.

Over the past 10 years, Glazer has owned and operated the national social impact consulting firm Blue Sky Partners, which focuses on strategy, operations, change management, and program design. 

He previously served as the inaugural Executive Director of Progress Texas and as Executive Director of the Austin Young Chamber, where he led organizational turnaround and operational restructuring efforts. Since 2019, Glazer has also served in multiple interim executive leadership roles for organizations, including Good Work Austin, Urban Roots, EarthShare Texas, Project Transitions, and Lirios Pediatrics, helping boards and leadership teams stabilize operations, modernize governance structures, and navigate executive transitions.

Glazer also serves as an Adjunct Professor of Practice at Trinity University, where he teaches human-centered design, innovation, and entrepreneurship. He has designed accelerator programs, leadership initiatives, and workforce development efforts focused on strengthening civic and nonprofit leadership capacity throughout the region.
